As I cycled along the quiet country road out the back of Sawtry, something caught my eye in the fields.
Could it have been the often mentioned, but rarely seen Fenland black cat?
Doubtful, but it got me thinking and googling.
Our village has a plentiful history of sightings of the animal and less than 20km away is a record of sheep mauling. This is a public record revealed in a freedom of information report.
It’s hard enough being a cyclist in the rain and cold winds in our part of the world, let along having to be astute enough to avoid and encounter with a Jaguar!
